The Prosecutor General's Office submitted an application to the Council of Europe, asking that it mandate expert Derrick John Pounder of the International Criminal Court to participate in the final discussions on the conclusions of the medical examination report and its signing in the legal case over Valeriu Boboc's death.
In a communique quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the Prosecutor General's Office says that the autopsy report prepared by the European expert was translated and all the additional investigations were completed. A commission formulated conclusions on the basis of the medical examination report.
Valeriu Boboc, 23, died after he was maltreated by police officers, as his relatives assert. According to the initial official conclusions, the young man got poisoned with an unidentified substance during the April 7 violent protests in Chisinau. At the insistence of the relatives, Valeriu Boboc was exhumed and examined again, this time by the foreign expert.
