The Parliament approved a new structure for the Prosecutor General's Office (PG), reducing its seven divisions to five, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the PG.
Thus, the Execution Division will merge with the Investigations Division, while the Personnel Department will become a section.
There will be set up two new specialized sections – the Torture Combating Section, whose creation forms part of the activities aimed at protecting the human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the ICT Offenses Investigation Section.
The Human Trafficking Combating Section of the PG will have a special status. It will become a separate subdivision that will be managed by the Prosecutor General.
The Parliament's decisions adopted on May 4 took effect on May 21, after they were published in the Official Gazette.
