The Associations of Invalids and of Families with Many Children Tuesday protested in front of the head office of Moldovagaz against the increase in gas tariffs, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Former minister of defense Valeriu Plesca was among the protesters. “We want to make the people to take attitude and not to tolerate the rise in charges. Families with many children came here. They are unable to pay the bills and a new increase in tariffs will be a serious blow to them,” he stated.
Maria Rusu, president of the Association of Families with Many Children, said the state should not forget about the families with many children as they encounter difficulties in paying the bills and ensuring decent living conditions for the children. “We raise the future generation of Moldova, but we cannot bring up healthy children when we are disconnected from the heat and gas supply. We do not want everything for free, but we should be offered at least compensations,” she stated.
Larisa Meleca, a mother of four, said she was disconnected from the gas supply two years ago and now prepares food at a range. “We were disconnected because they asked for 1 700 lei for certain works, but we only moved to the new house and did not have money. We do not manage to pay all the bills. We borrow money and pay them and the situation repeats every month,” she said.
The about 20 protesters said they will take to the streets until the authorities hear them.
