Members and supporters of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” and of the Political Party “Our Party” are protesting against the election of Mihai Poalelungi as president of the Supreme Court of Justice near the head office of the Supreme Council of Magistracy, which is considering the issue, IPN reports.
The protesters believe the election of Miahi Poalelungi is illegal because he is the only candidate and three are reasonable doubts that he committed acts of corruption. The leader of the political project “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase said that Poalelungi is a tool of the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc.
The Supreme Council of Magistracy’s chairman Victor Micu noted that the contest was announced and is held in transparent conditions and any person has the right to apply for the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice. Only Mihai Poalelungi applied for this post and the Council is now obliged to examine this candidate and to pronounce.
