Members and sympathizers of the Revival Party on Thursday staged an anti-government protest in front of the Parliament Building. The protesters wore masks and carried placards saying “We want fair justice!”, “Step by step the country is impoverished”, “Moldova needs healthcare and education, not weapons!”, “A policy of peace, not hostility!”, “Resign, save Moldova!” etc.

The protesters accused the government of incompetence. According to them, those who are in power promised good times, but they only increased the salaries of ministers. Meanwhile, the people became poorer. Society is split.

The leader of the party’s youth organization Nicolai Șicolai said that every day the country is impoverished even further. Poor old women from villages barely have money to buy bread, while young people leave the country and will never return. He demanded that the Recean Cabinet and President Maia Sandu should resign.

MP Vasile Bolea accused the authorities of trying to militarize Moldova by spending millions of lei. The people’s money is distributed to functionaries and judges who endeavor to keep the state in captivity, while the ordinary people fight poverty.

Another lawmaker, Alexander Sukhodolsky, said the government plunged the country into total chaos.

The protest was held while Prime Minister Dorin Recean was presenting a progress report in Parliament.
