The Intermediation and Representation Group and the Council of the Great National Assembly reiterated the invitation to dialogue for the Prime Minister, President and Head of Parliament. In a news conference held in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, representatives of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” said they expect the senior state officials to come to a meeting in the Government Building at 5pm, IPN reports.
“The Moldovan authorities defy the people by not accepting a dialogue with the Intermediation and Representation Group and the Council of the Great National Assembly. In such conditions, we contacted representatives of the civilized European states, of our development partners, and a first action is our meeting with representatives of the Delegation of the European Union at 1pm,” said the Council’s head Andrei Nastase.
He noted that the rulers are expected to come at 5pm. If these do not come, they will go themselves to the Presidential Office. “We will go there if it’s necessary, but we hope it won’t be necessary, even if we already have Timofti’s defiant answer. He stated that he will not resign,” said Nastase.
The head of the Council of the Great National Assembly called on the people of culture, representatives of creation unions and university rectors to join in the protest.
Members of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” promised to daily hold news conferences in the central square of Chisinau at 12 noon so as to inform society about the developments.
