Though they have the same demands and plead for early parliamentary elections, the disagreements over the place where to protest between the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN), on the one hand, and the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”, on the other hand, continue. Heated discussions between the representatives of the three organizations took place also during the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
PSRM deputy chairman Ion Ceban considers the party that he represents could have protested together with the Platform “Dignity and Truth”. “Those from the Platform said that if we want to join them, we must protest under their slogans. But they propagate particular values that the PSRM does not share and for which our supporters didn’t vote. We have many people we want to protest. We have a common goal – to remove the current government. I don’t understand what troubles those from the Platform. For example, if they are 30,000 and we also come in a similar number, we could oust the government from power within two months,” he stated.
Chisinau councilor on behalf of the PPPN Ilian Casu also thinks a common protest can be mounted.
“We all want to exert pressure on the government so that this ultimately yields to our demands. We must join together and built a common ‘front’ so that this government stops resisting,” he said.
Valentin Dolganiuc, one of the leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, said there is actually no conflict. “There is no conflict over the protests or demands. There are in fact disagreements with the leaders of these parties. We are a civic movement and they must understand this,” he stated.
The right to mount a protest in the square before the Parliament Building on September 27 caused arguments between the PSRM and PPPN with the Platform “Dignity and Truth”. The Chisinau City Hall went to court so that this decides if a protest in the square is possible and who should protest there.
