The Party of Socialists invited the political bloc ACUM to discuss the formation of a parliamentary majority, to form the government coalition and to invest a functional government for Moldova and its people on April 11, starting at 11am, in hall No. 508 of the Parliament’s annex. The announcement was made by the party’s secretary for ideology Ion Ceban in a press briefing on April 10, IPN reports.
The PSRM delegated the party’s leader Zinaida Grechanyi, executive secretary Vlad Batrîncea and Ion Ceban to take part in the consultations. “This is an official invitation and in the nearest future it will be registered with the Parliament’s secretariat and will be submitted to the head offices of the PAS and PPPDA,” stated Ion Ceban.
The secretary for ideology reminded that on April 9 the PSRM made public the position of the party’s Political Executive Committee and the Socialist parliamentary group on the main elements on which the dialogue should be based. “The Party of Socialists is the largest party, with the largest number of voters. Namely for these reasons, our approach was and is pragmatic, balanced and as correct as possible,” stated Ion Ceban.
As regards the package of laws proposed by ACUM, Ion Ceban said the PSRM could support some of these, but cannot vote, for example, the Magnitsky Law (to impose restrictions on those to blame for acts of corruption and to confiscate the gains obtained by fraud and money laundering, etc. e.n..). “We issued an invitation to a dialogue to determine the compromise points,” he added.
The PSRM convoked its National Council for April 12.
