The jurist of the Party of Socialists Fadei Nagachevski said he does not believe that the PSRM will turn down the invitation made by the bloc ACUM. The question is if the Socialists are ready to take part in this meeting on April 9, starting at 11am, or this meeting will take place on April 10 or April 11, the jurist was quoted by IPN as saying in a program on TV8 channel.
“When the bloc ACUM was in the Presidential Building, President Igor Dodon spoke about an additional package of bills to de-oligarchize the Republic of Moldova. In such a situation, I wonder if the PSRM already prepared this package of bills,” stated Fadei Nagachevski. He expressed his optimism that the PSRM will not only go to the meeting with the bloc ACUM, but the two parties will also reach a compromise and will soon start to work for the country’s benefit. As to the lack of confidence between the PSRM and ACUM, the jurist said that absolute confidence between parties is not needed in politics, but things should be based on particular strategies.
MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Alexandru Slusari said the bloc ACUM’s proposal is very clear and refers to the de-oligarchization of the country. “We will see what line of thought the Socialists have,” he stated, noting that if the PSRM accepts ACUM’s invitation, this will be the first step, while the second step will be the Socialists’ proposals and the principles on which the discussions will be based.
The politician said there is no trust between the bloc ACUM and the PSRM. “The history of our relations, especially after 2016, when one thing was said and something else was done by the Socialists, didn’t inspire confidence. But I think the situation is now different and if we have the feeling of responsibility towards the country and if what we promised to the voters counts for us, confidence can be somehow restored,” stated Alexandru Slusari.
MP of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Mihai Popșoi said there is not much confidence between the two parties. However, the people’s interests should be placed at the forefront. Confidence can be rebuilt step by step and if the PSRM accepts ACUM’s invitation to discussions, a small, but important step will be taken in this regard.
Igor Boțan, president of the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT), said he does not believe in a coalition formed by the PSRM and ACUM, but a long-term agreement could be reached. “A situational coalition will not solve much, by a responsible dialoged and a forced long-term agreement are possible,” stated Igor Boțan. He noted this agreement would envision including the voting of the Parliament Speaker and the Premier. Furthermore, such an agreement would also mean the gradual freeing of the state institutions without breaking the law.
On April 8, the Political Bloc ACUM DA PAS invited the parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists to public discussions to consider the delay in the process of constituting the Parliament’s working bodies as the process blocks the discussion and adoption of the laws needed to free the state from the captivity of the oligarchic system. The invitation to discussions in the Parliament’s conference hall is for April 9, 11am, or for any other jointly agreed day and hour.
