More than 26,000 persons have been trained at the Public Administration Academy under the Presidion of Moldova since its opening 20 years ago. President Nicolae Timofti, who attended the ceremony held to mark the anniversary, said that the administrative culture in Moldova started to develop after the foundation of the Academy. There were laid the foundations of a center for forming new-generation administrators and functionaries who are able to cope with the difficulties of time, IPN reports.
“During two decades of work, the Academy increased its consultative potential as a participant in examining strategic, conceptual and program documents. It became an important system component of the central public administration reform. More than 4,000 persons completed university and post-university studies at the Academy. Over 22,000 persons from among public servants attended professional formation and development courses there,” said the head of state.
Vasile Marina, rector of the Public Administration Academy, spoke about the development of science, saying it must harmoniously combine two vital values – to contribute to a better quality of life and not to affect the environment.
The Academy has two departments – master’s degree studies and professional development – as well as five faculties and a number of divisions. It cooperates with 16 similar institutions from abroad and 32 embassies and international organizations working in Moldova.
