Purchase of sexual services will be penalized

The purchase of sexual services directly or through intermediaries will be punished with a fine of 2 000 to 6 000 lei or up to 60 hours of community service, Info-Prim Neo reports. A relevant amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses was approved by the Government on June 6. Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu said such an amendment is needed as the prostitution grew in size, the moral values of society should be protected and the public health ensured. The amendment bill was put forward by the Ministry of the Interior, being based on a legislative initiative of a group of MPs.
