Radu Albot eliminated from US Open

Radu Albot’s adventure in the US Open Grand Slam tournament is over. The Moldovan tennis player was eliminated in the second preliminary round, by the main favorite for qualifying, Dutch Igor Sisjling, at scores 4-6 and 3-6. Previously, Albot defeated Belarusian Vladimir Ignatik, at scores 7-5, 6-7, and 6-2. Radu Albot participated in two other Grand Slam tournaments this year, i.e. at Australian Open, and Wimbledon, but was eliminated during the preliminary phase each time. However, he added to his achievement list 6 more victories at the tournaments from the Futures circuit, and was one step away from reaching the qualification quota for the London Summer Olympics. 22-year-old Albot is Moldova’s best tennis player ranking 222nd in the world ATP hierarchy.
