The election of the rector of “Nicolae Testemiţanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy will take place on October 2. Under the Education Code, the rector is elected by the general assembly of tenured teaching and scientific staff and student representatives in the Senate and in the faculty councils, by a majority of votes of the members. Three candidates have applied for the post - habilitated doctors in medical sciences Emil Ceban, current rector, Oleg Lozan, and Anatolie Vishnevschi, IPN reports.
The tenure of the current rector expires on October 10. The Council for Institutional Strategic Development will organize, with the support of the University’s administration, a public debate between the candidates on September 27, starting at 03:00 p.m.
The October 2 election will be held by universal, direct, secret and freely expressed suffrage at the polling station located inside the University Sociocultural Complex, at 25 Nicolae Testemiţanu St, between 09:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m.
