The temporary refugee placement center at “Moldexpo” is transferred under the management of the Government so as to combine forces in the implementation of the UN Refugee Plan and to provide assistance services to refugees with the involvement of the personal, it is said on the First Source channel. The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban is critical of the central authorities’ decision, IPN reports.
The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided to terminate the lease agreement between SA “Moldexpo” and the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Trinity”. The temporary placement center for Ukrainian refugees at “Moldexpo” will not yet be closed. It will continue to be used, but will be managed by the Government.
Mayor Ion Ceban came with a reaction. “After the Chisinau City Hall during three weeks invested in the equipment and logistics of “Moldexpo” Center, the Government decided to take this over. Is this related to the visits that are to be made by high-ranking officials, like the President of Romania, the minister of foreign affairs of Spain and the President of the European Commission? I think it is! After doing nothing at “Moldexpo”, they will go to show how well they managed the process. Shame!” said the mayor.
