Romania will grant €150,000 for the rehabilitation of the Regional Blood Transfusion Center in Cahul. The Government empowered Minister of Health Andrei Usatii to negotiate and sign a memorandum to this effect with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Romanian Government had previously contributed to the project €140,000 for the repair of the Center's building. These funds were fully used in December 2011. The additional aid of €150,000 plus an equal allotment from the National Medical Insurance Company will suffice for the finalization of works in this important project. The state budget for 2012 provides 555,000 lei for the activity of the Center. According to the Minister of Health, the opening of the Center will facilitate the non-stop access to blood transfusion assistance offered to the patients of medical-sanitary institutions in the south of the country. Thus, it will improve the cost efficiency of the National Blood Transfusion Service.
