Adults who want to improve their knowledge or study Romanian from scratch can do it at free courses within a new stage of the National Program to Study the Romanian Language for which the registration process has started. The costs are covered with state budget funds, IPN reports.
One can register for the courses during February 1-29 by filling in an online form. If online registration is not possible, those interested can call on 068686004 on weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., to be helped to complete the application.
The courses will be organized both with physical presence and online, between March and December 2024. At the end, participants will obtain a certificate indicating the level of linguistic competence in Romanian, in accordance with the provisions of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Research expects that about 4,000 employees from the education system, health system, public administration, justice, the economy and also other categories of adults will be trained as part of the program. Over 8 million lei was allocated for the purpose. A course lasts for 120 hours on average.
Last year, 6,550 people were enrolled in the National Program to Study the Romanian Language. Over 6 million lei was earmarked in the state budget for organizing and conducting free Romanian language courses.
