Registration of '.md' domain becomes cheaper

The prices for registering and maintaining names with the .'md' domain by the state-run company MoldData will be reduced by 20% from April 1, to US$39. The price will be calculated in Moldovan lei, at the exchange rate set by the National Bank on the day when the name is registered or re-registered, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. “The initiative forms part of the Ministry's efforts aimed at facilitating Moldovan people's access to the possibilities offered by the Internet and at promoting the national information resources abroad,” ICT Minister Alexandru Oleinic said. On March 1, the prices for registering family names with the .'md' domain were decreased by 50%.
