The new mayor of Balti municipality Renato Usatyi was invested. After the investiture, he said that he will solve many of the problems faced by the municipality with his own money and will make a number of changes in the administration, and the functionaries against whom the people will file complaints will be fired, IPN reports.
Renato Usatyi noted that the young people must be supported. Therefore, an innovational center intended for these will be set up in Balti. Effort will be made to get rid of the gaming halls existing in the municipality.
The new mayor said the local budget is too small compared with the needs of the townspeople. “We will demand increasing it. The people living in the municipality pay taxes of over 1 billion lei into the state budget, while the mayor’s office manages such small amounts. We will deal with his issues,” stated Renato Usatyi.
The mayor added that he will make effort to prevent the German company Draexlmaier, which faces problems in its work because of the pollution caused by a local winery, from leaving and its activity will be protected. “Any other investor that will create workplaces here wil be protected. I will look after the investors as if they are my kids,” he stated.
The politician noted that he will not use the mayor’s automobile and will allow the functionaries who really need transport to use it. He promised he will soon buy a new trolleybus for the town, saying Balti needs at least 10 more trolleybuses.
Renato Usatyi was elected mayor of Balti municipality in the first round of local elections by the votes of over 70% of the local electors.
