Representatives of four cultural associations from Iasi take part in today’s obsequies of Grigore Vieru

Representatives of four cultural associations from Iasi, including those of the cultural societies founded by Grigore Vieru, take part today in the funerals of Grigore Vieru, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Antena 3 TV station. The delegates of the associations Pro-Basarabia and Bucovina, the Cultural League for the Union of Romanians fromEverywhere, the Astra Society are to come to Chisinau. These associations will be joined by 25 representatives of the Cultural Society Plai Mioritic Iasi-Chisinau-Cernauti, founded in Iasi several days after the 1989 Revolution by poet Grigore Vieru and writer Nicolae Dabija alongside with the people of culture from Iasi and Basarabia. “We are a group of 25 intellectuals from Iasi, members of the Cultural Society 'Plai Mioritic', numbering over 2 thousand members from the whole country. The Iasi delegation will lay down a wreath of roses in the colors of the Romanian tricolor flag with the dedication “Homage to the unique poet” on the grave of poet Grigore Vieru in the Central Graveyard of Chisinau,” Ioana Irimia, the head of the Iasi-based Cultural Society 'Plai Mioritic', was quoted by Antena 3 as saying.
