The inhabitants of Bacioii Noi town of Chisinau municipality in the November 30 parliamentary elections will cast their ballots in a tent because a suitable place could not be identified, as the authorities said, IPN reports.
“Voting in Bacioii Noi will take place in a tent because it was practically impossible to find a place that would be suitable for setting up a polling place. We held all the necessary consultations, including with the Central Election Commission, which allowed us to organize the electoral process in this tent that will be heated and outfitted with all the necessary things,” head of the Botanica district of Chisinau Vladimir Guritsenco said Monday.
Contacted by IPN, Central Election Commission secretary Andrei Volentir said the legislation does not specify how a polling place should look like or from what materials it should be built. In other elections, the voters from Bacioii Noi went to a polling place located 6km from the town. The tent will be equipped appropriately by the local authorities.
According to the central electoral authority, 309 polling places will be established for the November 30 parliamentary elections.
