The Romanian consular fees were reduced by 30%, including those for transcribing civil status documents, Agerpres reported, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Romanian press reports, the announcement was made by Romania's Foreign Minister Teodor Bakonski on September 1. “I'm glad to announce that the joint ordinance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Finances, whereby the consular fees are decreased by 30%, was published in the Official Gazette,” Teodor Bakonski said in the yearly meeting of the Romanian Foreign Ministry officials. According to him, the fees were cut following requests from the Romanian communities abroad, which complained that they are too high.
