The eighth case of death claimed by the novel coronavirus was recorded in Romania on March 24. As many as 762 cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed in the neighboring state so far, IPN reports.
The Romanian Ministry of Health said the 70-year-old man who died was being treated at the Craiova Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases and was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus on March 19. The patient returned from Italy on March 7 together with his daughter, who is now under the self-isolation regime. The man was hospitalized on March 19 with respiratory insufficiency. He was on insulin and suffered from class 2 obesity.
Ukraine reported 84 cases of COVID-19 by March 24. Three people died.
A number of 109 cases of infection were confirmed in Moldova. An infected woman died.
