Romania to issue 8,000 work permits for foreigners, including Moldovans

Romania will issue work permits for 8,000 foreigners, including Moldovans, in 2009, what is 0.2% of the total number of Romanian and migrant employees in Romania, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique by the Labor Ministry of Romania. The number of work authorizations for foreigners is annually established in accordance with the labor migration policy and taking into account the situation on the Romanian labor market, reads the release. In 2008, Romania endorsed the issuance of 10,000 work permits for foreigners, as 5,000 more were added at the request of employers. Most authorizations were issued for the construction area, the textile industry, food processing and services, show statistic data of the Romanian Immigration Office. Most work permits for foreigners rested with Turkish (4,831), Chinese (4,761) and Moldovan workers (1,214).
