Romanian Literature Days to be opened in Balti

The second edition of the Romanian Literature Days will take place in Moldova during three days, between May 18 and 20. Conferences, public lectures, debates and performances will be staged in Chisinau and Balti. They will involve well-known writers from Moldova and Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Project coordinator Vasile Ernu said the writers will read fragments from their books and will have discussions with the public.”This project is aimed at stopping the reproduction of ignorance. During this event, we will try to answer several simple questions, including what happened to us, the poetry and literature?” said Vasile Ernu.
The Romanian Literature Days will be opened in Balti. Lectures and debates themed “Angels and Alcohol” will take place at the Balti-based State University “Alecu Russo”. Lectures and meetings with writers will be held at the high schools “Gheorghe Asachi” and “Ion Creanga” in Chisinau on May 19. The same day, “Luceafarul” Theater will house lectures and debates themed “New Prose”.
A reading performance “Victor Rebengiuc – Legend of the Great Inquisitor” will be staged at the municipal theater “Satiricus I. L. Caragiale”.
A conference titled “Ion Vianu – Stories as they happened” will take place at the State University of Moldova on May 20. The same day, a meeting with Cristian Teodorescu will be held at the Centru Bookshop, while “Luceafarul” Theater will present a musical play.
The Romanian Literature Days are organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute and the National Book Center. The event will involve Emil Brumaru, Val Butnaru, Constantin Cheianu, Mihai Fusu, Bogdan Georgescu, Arcadie Suceveanu, Cristian Teodorescu, Ion Vianu, and others.
