The Consulate of Romania situated on Grigore Ureche St in Chisinau Tuesday inaugurated a new wing. Attending the event, Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu said this is the largest consular office of Romania in its diplomatic consular system, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This project concerns the quality of the consular services that we can provide and the way this activity is perceived in Moldova. It is a natural attitude and gesture of the Romanian authorities, connected with the diplomatic relations between the two states,” said the minister. Prime Minister Vlad Filat welcomed the extension of the consular office, saying it is a proof of the continuation of the friendly efforts that resulted in the opening of the consulates in Balti and Cahul. “These actions had one goal – to offer the Moldovan people appropriate conditions so that they can freely move via Romania,” he stated. The Consulate’s new wing has eight offices equipped with computers. From now on, the documents will be issued inside the office, not outside. Cristian Diaconescu is paying his first official visit to Chisinau.
