Russia to send weaponry recently shipped to Nistru peacekeepers back to depots

Russia has pledged to send the armament recently shipped to Russian peacekeepers stationed on the Nistru back to depots, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov told a news conference on Monday. Carpov specified that the armament had been taken from the arsenal of the former 14th Army and is to be put back to the military depots in the Transnistrian region. Eugen Carpov said that Russia also asked the Moldovan authorities for permission to use a military airdrome in Tiraspol to withdraw eight helicopters that had been part of the peacekeeping forces since 1992 and are no longer in use today. The decomissioned helicopters will be disassembled before being laden on the aircraft. On Tuesday, the first airplane will arrive in Chisinau, after which it will fly to Tiraspol, and the flight back will also be via Chisinau.
