The Moldovan authorities plan to arrest three Communist lawmakers by order of Romania, says the Russian federal news agency Regnum. According to the agency’s website, the arrests will be made before the Civic Congress scheduled by the Communist Party for May 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The three Communist MPs that will be arrested are Mark Tkachuk, Grigore Petrenko and Alexandr Petkov. The agency says the information was made public by a source in the Parliament of Moldova on April 17.
In a news conference in Chisinau on April 18, Alexandr Petkov said that attempts were earlier made to arrest him and his colleague Mark Tkachuk. “This lawlessness is due to your master too,” he said, addressing the reporter of Prime TV. He referred to First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, who is said to be controlling the given TV channel.
