An old woman was hospitalized in a coma that was allegedly caused by acute drug poisoning, Chisinau Ambulance Service coordinating doctor Maria Samatailo has told Info-Prim Neo.
The 84-year-old woman, who is a Russian citizen, came to visit her children. She was living in an apartment on Teilor St in Chisinau's Botanica district. On July 13, she was discovered in a deep coma.
The woman left a note on the table, saying goodby to her relatives and friends. There were empty blister packs on the bed. She was rushed to Saint Trinity Hospital in a serious condition.
A girl aged 2 swallowed pills when left without supervision. She was subjected to gastric lavage.
A depressed woman of about 35 jumped from an upper story, allegedly seventh, of an apartment building situated on Zelinski St.
Two women aged 28 and 32 poisoned by mushrooms. The first felt better after undergoing gastric lavage and preferred to remain at home, while the second needed extensive medical care and was admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital.
Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service responded to 828 calls, dealing with 64 cases of acute viral infection, 71 cases of trauma, eight strokes and seven cases of death.
