The Government decided to increase the basic salaries in the budget-funded sector by 10%. As a result, the salaries will rise by 100-200 lei, depending on the pay grade, IPN reports.
A number of 120,000 employees of education, culture and art, physical education and sport institutions and of medical-sanitary and social assistance facilities as well as the service members, police employees and other categories of salary earners will benefit from pay raises.
The Government decision will take effect in two stages. The salaries of education system employees will be increased from September 1, 2017, while of the employees from the other areas from January 1, 2018.
The decision will be implemented at a cost of 337 million lei.
