Science Academy pursues to eternalize Grigore Vieru

A book dedicated to the works of the departed poet Grigore Vieru will be compiled within the prestigious collection “Academica” of the Moldovan Science Academy, it says in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The book will be prepared from 2009 to 2010 as provided an action plan of the Science Academy, pursuing to eternalize Grigore Vieru, a Doctor Honoris Causa of the Academy. Next October, the Philology Institute will stage an international conference called “Modern philology: achievements and perspectives in the European context. Language, speech, parlance. In memoriam Grigore Vieru.” Also this year, the Academy plans to install a plaque with the poet's bas relief and a bust on the Classical Writers Alley in Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Public Garden. Other actions consist in holding exhibitions dedicated to Grogore Vieru, proposing his candidacy for the Herder International Award, issuing a post stamp and an envelope with the poet's portrait, and issuing a coin with Grigore Vieru's image.
