The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases is carrying out searches at a number of business entities that provide taxi services in Chisinau municipality. Prosecutors established that the companies caused about 15 million damage to the national public budget in 2014-2016, IPN reports.
The inspected business entities apparently included false data about their revenues and costs in the financial and fiscal records, avoiding thus paying approximately 15 million lei taxes to the state budget.
The suspected private individuals face up to six years in jail and a fine of 150 000 to 250 000 lei, while the firms are liable to fines of 150 000 to 300 000 and could be liquidated as legal entities.
