The uninominal voting system can change the situation in the country and Vladimir Plahotnic does well what he does, former MP and ex-president of the Court of Auditors Serafim Urechean stated in the program “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.

“The voters should know the MP and should not vote for party leaders. If the MPs are chosen based on the uninominal voting system, these will be more responsible. In Parliament, there will be enough upright people who could not be bought,” explained the ex-MP.

Serafim Urechean praised the leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc. “If it hadn’t been Plahotniuc, there would have been someone else. He is a wise man able to keep everything under control. I didn’t hear that he wanted to hang or kill someone for refusing to join the PDM,” he stated.

The former MP noted he does not have friendly relations with Plahotniuc and implied that the ascent of the Democratic leader was due to Vladimir Voronin. “I haven’t met Plahotniuc for about seven years. When I was a mayor, he came to me to seek help, but it wasn’t a business or political matter. It becomes clear who ‘brought up’ Plahotniuc if we follow how the business was divided, in what period his businesses prospered and how the Communist MPs joined the PDM. Nothing is accidental. Plahotniuc is a wise man who knew how to act,” stated Serafim Urechean.

He also praised ex-prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco and denied the rumors that he took €1 million bribe for accepting his candidacy. “He was chosen out of 17 candidates. Zubco was the most correct and most tolerant prosecutor general in the history of the Republic of Moldova,” he said.
