The candidate for premiership will be proposed by the parliamentary majority on January 13, while next week Parliament could give its vote of confidence to the new Cabinet, Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu said in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“The PDM’s Political Council will have a meeting on January 12. It will take a decision as to the candidate for Prime Minister. I hope this candidate will be nominated by the head of state,” said the Democratic lawmaker.
Asked if the candidate will be Vladimir Plahotniuc, Sergiu Sarbu avoided giving a concrete answer, but assured that this will be a person of great integrity. “A campaign orchestrated and financed with money from ‘we know whom’ has been staged against Plahotniuc during five-six years. It has been a campaign of manipulation and lies. Anyone can become the victim of such a campaign. We will suggest an upright person free from suspicions of corruption for premiership, while Nicolae Timofte wil not have reasons to reject this candidate,” he stated.
