The service members serving on a contract basis will be able to also hold the nationality of another state alongside the Moldovan one. The students of higher military education institutions will also enjoy this right, IPN reports.
The relevant changes approved by the Government to the Law on the Status of Service Members derive from the Constitutional Court’s decision of January 31 this year, which provides that the ban on holding the nationality of another state besides that of the Republic of Moldova, imposed on service members under contract and students of higher military education institutions, is unconstitutional.
