Seven persons, one of whom is an employee of the National Investigations Inspectorate, were arrested for trafficking in drugs in recreational places in Chisinau and online, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspects used different communication applications, avoiding the physical contact between the seller and buyer. The money was deposited in an electronic account and was later transferred several times so as to hide traces.
As a result of searches at suspects’ homes, the police found large quantities of different types of drugs, firearms, forged police ID cards and money earned from selling drugs, in the amount of 50, 000 lei.
There were seized drugs to the value of over 200,000 lei. All the suspects were remanded in custody and face up to 15 years behind bars.
