Seven persons who are suspected of being involved in the stealing of property from the state-run railway company “Calea Ferată din Moldova” (CFM) were charged on May 18, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The police established that the group stole fuel from the Ocnita depot in an organized way.
Among those charged are a district head of the Ocnita Police Inspectorate, the depot’s head and two inferiors of his, and three buyers of diesel fuel. During investigations, a large quantity of diesel fuel, put into special containers and loaded onto two vehicles for being taken away, was found in the depot. There were also found two pumps put into a train’s reservoir and empty containers for transporting the fuel.
The culprits face up to 12 years behind bars for theft of a considerable size. The suspects were placed under arrest for 15 days. Measures are being taken to identify all the persons involved in this scheme.
