Sheriff are best placed Moldovan team in IFFHS rankings

Seven Moldovan teams were included in the Club World Rankings of the 21st century that were released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) on March 20, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sheriff Tiraspol are the best ranked – 109th with 881.5 points. They are followed by Zimbru Chisinau (226th), Dacia Chisinau (280th), Nistru Otaci (321st), FC Tiraspol (377th), Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa (530th), and Olimpia Balti (536th). Sheriff dominated the Moldovan football during the last decade, winning ten national titles, six Cups and four Super Cups. They achieved the best results among the Moldovan teams in the European cups, performing twice in the Europa League groups, in 2009 and 2010. Barcelona Spain come top, followed by Manchester United and Arsenal London. The rankings include 600 clubs and were compiled based on the results of official matches involving over 1,600 teams from 48 European countries, played in 2001-2011.
