Moldova's ten-time champion Sheriff Tiraspol moved ten positions up in the world football club rankings compiled by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Sheriff rank 69th, ahead of such European clubs as Celtic, Aston Villa and Tottenham, Info-Prim Neo reports. Among the former Soviet states, only Alexandru Spiridon's Shatior and the Belorussian team BATE Borisov come in front of Sheriff in the rankings. FC Barcelona head the rankings, being followed by Argentina's Estudiantes La Plata Argentina and Italy's Inter Milano. The other Champions League finalist, Bayern Munchen, occupy the sixth position. The rankings cover the period between April 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010 and are based on the results of all the teams in the official competitions.
