Sheriff Tiraspol were eliminated from Champions League after losing 0:3 on their own pitch to Basel in the second leg of the playoff round on Tuesday. However, the Moldovan champions will play, for the second consecutive year, in the Europa League group round. The defeat in the return match in Tiraspol followed a 1-0 defeat in Basel on August 19.
