The only independent candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Silvia Radu on May 3 presented her electoral platform. This is a one-year program that contains 11 objectives that were partially or fully suggested by inhabitants of Chisinau. If she is elected mayor of Chisinau municipality, Silvia Radu intends to continue to implement the projects launched as an acting mayor, IPN reports.

Silvia Radu promised to continue the process of “cleaning” the administration of the Chisinau City Hall, to de-monopolize and optimize the activity of the public institution. She will struggle to root out corruption and to increase the level of transparency in work.

Among other objectives of the candidate are to ensure a green and clean city, lit and laid out parks and fewer illegal constructions. “A system should be designed at the City Hall to check not only the issuing of new construction and architecture authorizations, but also the existing authorizations, their legality and the impact of constructions on urban infrastructure,” stated Silvia Radu.

During a year, the candidate for mayor will focus on the repair of roads and sidewalks and on the replacement of elevators. The municipality will purchase new units of public transport and will launch the electronic ticketing system, will develop cultural programs and will attract new sources of financing to Chisinau.

Silvia Radu noted that in the campaign prior to the mayoral elections she will not have posters and electoral advertisements on TV. She will campaign only through social networking sites with money from the family budget and will not spend more than €30,000.
