SIS officers find munitions in Gagauzia

Officers of the Local Division of the Security and Information Service (SIS) in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia discovered a batch of munitions in the western part of the municipality of Comrat. The munitions included an F1 grenade, two training grenades RGD-5, 400 grams of Triton and a large number of 5.45- and 7.62-caliber cartridges, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Security and Information Service. During the last few months, officers of the SIS in Gagauzia performed a number of operations to identify persons holding guns illegally, dating from the 1990s, since the conflict on the Nistru, and to convince them to surrender them willingly. The Security and Information Service asks anyone with any information about persons who own guns and munitions illegally to inform the police as anonymity will be guaranteed.
