The special sitting where the new Cabinet is to be voted in cannot be held in a normal way. Immediately after the sitting was opened, the Socialist MPs asked for a break of three hours so that other colleagues from the Party of Socialists could join them. As their proposal was rejected, the Socialists blocked the rostrum, IPN reports.

Given that the rostrum was blocked, candidate for Prime Minister Pavel Filip had to present a part of the government program from his seat. Afterward, he was invited to the Parliament’s presidium. At that moment, the Democratic and Socialists lawmakers got into an altercation.

In such conditions, the leader of the Democratic group Marian Lupu suggested skipping over the program presentation and question putting session and immediately holding a vote.
