The athletes who represent Moldova at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Germany had a bad start. In the super giant slalom on February 9, Italian skier Mirko Deflorian and Austrian skier Georg Lindner did not finish the race during the first attempt as another 28 sportspersons. The winners in this event were Italy's Christof Innerhofer and, respectively, Austria's Hannes Reichelt and the leader of this season, Croatia's Ivica Kostelici. On February 12, Mirko Deflorian will compete in downhill skiing. In the Alpine World Ski Championships, Moldova is also represented by the Swiss skiers Urs Imboden and Christophe Roux. They will both take part in slalom on the last day of the competition.
