The recipients of pensions, social welfare and other benefits can collect these from any post office, regardless of the domicile, as of December 1, 2016. This method of distributing social benefits became possible as a result of an agreement between the National House of Social Insurance and the state-run company “Moldova’s Post Office”, IPN reports.
The National House of Social Insurance said the possibility of collecting welfare from any post office will facilitate access to benefits provided to people who, for different reasons (treatment in health facilities or sanatoriums, visits) are not at the place of residence.
Following the adoption of legislative amendments, the social benefits are paid monthly by the payment service provider chosen by the recipient. The move was aimed at promoting efficient and competitive activity in the field.
