A censure motion against the Strelet Government, signed by 42 MPs of the Socialist and Communist factions, was registered in Parliament. Speaker Andrian Candu read the censure motion, saying it will be examined and put to the vote next week, IPN reports.
The motion says that Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet is involved in acts of corruption and his activity is connected with the activity of ex-Premier Vlad Filat, who was recently arrested on charges of passive corruption and influence peddling.
After the censure motion was read, the Socialists left the assembly hall in protest at the fact that the motion wasn’t included in the agenda of today’s sitting. The Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon told the press there are real chances for the Premier to be dismissed for corruption and inefficiency. He said that they need four more votes of MP to dismiss the Cabinet and voiced hope that they will find these.
