The Socialist group requested that the director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) and the minister of foreign affairs and European integration should be questioned in Parliament in connection with the decision to declare five Russian diplomats personas non grata in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
MP Vlad Batrancea said the Government’s decision is unprecedented and represents an attack on the Moldovan-Russian relations, the President and the thousands of Moldovan migrants and Moldovan exporters. These actions are geopolitical provocations that harm the national interests. “In connection with this, we demand parliamentary hearings and want that the minister of foreign affairs and SIS director should present a detailed report in Parliament,” stated the MP.
The Socialists’ proposal wasn’t supported. As a result, Vlad Batrancea said these actions are directed and orchestrated by the parliamentary alliance. He asked for a 30-minute break.
On May 29, 2017, five Russian diplomats were declared personas non grata in the Republic of Moldova. Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the decision was taken based on the information provided by the intelligence services.
