Socialist MPs present accomplishments in economic sector

The MPs of the Party of Socialists who are in charge of the economic sector told a news conference that the group’s priorities in the Parliament’s spring session included the ensuring of legislative support for the initiatives proposed by President Igor Dodon and the Government led by Ion Chicu. Vladimir Golovatyuk, who heads the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance, said the commission examined and supported over 45 bills, IPN reports.

The MPs said the Socialist group concentrated its efforts on achieving concrete results. There were examined pressing problems faced by the country, citizens and businesses. The commission’s deputy chairman Petru Burduja said that a serious problem was identified and solved, related to the loans provided to private individuals operating in the non-banking sector. There were made amendments to the Law on the National Commission for Financial Markets, the Law on Entrepreneurship and Enterprises and the Tax Code to ensure the protection of consumers, to promote responsible lending practices and to alleviate the indebtedness risks of private individuals.

Changes were also made to the legislation on tourism development. Petru Burduja said the domestic tourism will stimulate the development of infrastructure and entrepreneurship in the regions and, as a result, will lead to a rise in the number of jobs and will help rehabilitate villages.

Socialist MP Radu Mudreac spoke about the activities of the commission on agriculture, food industry and environment. There was adopted the law that regulates the partnership between mayor’s offices and different associations. “The go- ahead was given to form groups and have access to the agriculture and rural development subsidization fund,” he stated
