The priorities of the parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) during the spring-summer session will center on the social and economic sectors. The Socialist MPs prepared also initiatives of a political character, including simple motions against each member of the Cabinet and a bill on Moldova’s neutrality, IPN reports.
The leader of the PSRM Zinaida Grecheanyi told a news conference that many good legislative proposals of the Socialists were rejected by the parliamentary majority during the previous session. Later these were copied and presented as initiatives of the Government.
As regards the bills prepared for the new parliamentary session, MP Vlad Batrincea said the PSRM will propose replacing the course “History of Romanians” with “History of Moldova” in schools. It will also demand to ban unionist marches as these spoil the image of the state. The PSRM will continue to plead for Moldova’s neutrality. The party’s MPs will suggest a bill to strengthen this status.
The PSRM will request that each member of the Cabinet should account for their work and will insist on the publication of the second Kroll report.
In the social sector, the Socialists will demand to stop closing schools and hospitals. They intend to obtain the restoration of the retirement age of 57 years for women and of 62 years for men and will insist on equaling pensions so that there are no differences between the pensions of judges and those of teachers, stated MP Vladimir Odnostalco.
MP Vladimir Vitiuc said Socialists’ initiatives are pragmatic, realistic and are understood by everyone. The Socialists intend to propose a number of initiatives in support of persons with low salaries and will demand to review the tariffs down. Another initiative enables traders to work based on patent until 2022. As regards the public property, the PSRM suggests privatizing “Tutun-CTC”, “Moldtelecom”, “Moldova’s Railways” and other enterprises.
