The president of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said he asked the Socialist MPs register a bill on lustration on the first day of next week, IPN reports.
“We proposed the lustration law so as to remove the institution managers who were named during the time of Plahotniuc. We will register again this law,” Igor Dodon stated in his online program where he answers questions put by the press and citizens.
Igor Dodon made the statements in connection with the recent rises in fuel prices. “The current administration of the NAER, as of many other institutions that are subordinated to Parliament, was named at the end of 2018 or the start of 2019 by the PDM, which then had 54-56 seats of MP. The PSRM, with 24 MPs, was in the opposition. This can be easily determined. That’s why the PSRM should not be blamed for the rise in fuel prices,” stated the leader of the Socialists.
Igor Dodon noted that the current administration of the NAER includes former members of the PLDM, “government partners of incumbent President Maia Sandu”. He called on the MPs to vote the lustration law, but said that he is skeptical that Maia Sandu’s supporters will do it, saying “the ambassadors or the interests will not allow them to”.
