The Socialist parliamentary group announced that it could present a censure motion against the Government. The Socialist leader Igor Dodon said they will be supported by the Lib-Dems and the Communists in this move, IPN reports.
“We hope that today we will be able to collect all the necessary signatures and this censure motion will be submitted and registered on the part of three parliamentary groups. The 24 Socialist MPs will all sign it. We will see how many Lib-Dems and Communists put their signatures,” stated Igor Dodon. According to him, this is the only chance to stop the coming into force of the package of laws for which the Government assumed responsibility.
Igor Dodon also said that as a result of the adoption of the law on the issuing of state bonds, the citizens of Moldova will have to repay the loan of 13 billion lei provided by the National Bank of Moldova to the three robbed banks under state guarantee, at an interest rate of 5% annually, which is 21 billion lei during 25 years.
The Communist MPs said the seven laws for which the Government assumed responsibility are strategic in character. “Since 2010, destroying by stealing the banking system of Moldova that is ranked fifth in the world in terms of stability and following the advice of the IMF to liquidate the only state-owned bank, now the Government, without any preliminary debate, adopted laws that hide the intentions of a narrow group of people to take raider actions in the banking sector,” the Communist parliamentary group says in a statement.
According to the Communists, such a Government should be dismissed without delay. “Early parliamentary elections must be held instead of the illegal presidential elections,” reads the statement.
The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Tudor Deliu said the Lib-Dems will vote the censure motion if this is proposed.
The Filip Government assumed responsibility for a package of seven laws on September 26. If no censure motion is presented during 72 hours, the given laws will take effect without being examined by the MPs. If the motion is registered and adopted, the Government will be dismissed.
